After an amazing turkey & bacon sandwich which we had packed out from the Timberline Lodge yesterday our first highlight of the day were the Ramona Falls. Everybody was talking about Oregon being the state of the waterfalls – so far the Obsidian Fall had been the only one on the trail… But the Ramona Falls are definitely georgous! I was standing in the water for about half an hour to take pictures. Quite a challenge since it took about half a second for the lense to be completely sprayed and needing another wipe. But I am quite happy with the outcome. Couldn’t narrow the selection further down – sorry 😳

pc: Kaylee. Thanks for being so patient and trying so hard for the shot! 😉

Shortly before we got to the falls we had our first sneak preview into Washington: left St. Helen and right behind the ridge Mt. Rainier.

Also thousands of wild flowers everywhere. And an entire ocean of these beautiful ones.

A highlight in the green tunnel. But since it’s all volcanic around here there are surprises left and right. Today some incredible rocks:

We said good bye to Mt. Hood and went back in the green for the last 15 miles of today.

We had heard about a forest fire and the trail closure already but when we popped over the ridge we also saw that the closure was still on for a good reason. Still fire in the valley. So no more waterfalls tomorrow but normal trail – the last day in Oregon 😳
Only 19 miles to the Washington border…
