I participated in the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA) Photo Contest 2018 and handed it some of my favourite shots.

Even though I didn’t make it into the top three I received an Honorable Mention in the “Human Spirit” category for a picture from the Sierra Nevada when we entered back via Kearsarge Pass and were surprised by the first of a few incredible sunsets in the mountains. A major part of the credit for this picture of course goes to my favourite hiking partner Smiles who helped me with this picture – Thank you Smiles 😘

Part of me is also featured in another photo from Oneday who was also part of the Peanut Butter Sunrise Trail Family. She made 2nd place with one of her photos and received another Honorable Mention for her black & white picture “Siesta” which actually show my feet. Thanks Oneday… 😂

PC: Onday. Feet-Models: Little One & Flow 😂

I feel very honoured to have been awarded an Honourable Mention by the PCTA. It’s pretty cool to still be part of the #tribe somehow… The photos will now be used in the PCTAs communication, media, website, newsletters, etc. So hopefully the photo will spread even more in the future 😊

And again it’s another reminder of what happened more or less exactly one year ago – I started out in Campo to the 2650 mile journey from Mexiko to Canada. Seeing all the pictures again brings back a lot of memories from the trail life. Since I know a few people personally which just started or are about to leave Campo in a few days I am living the trail life again a bit through their eyes, photos and messages. My life is perfect the way it is at the moment. But being confronted with the trail life again so much now I do have to accept that I miss it and I can’t wait to get back out to Walk, Eat, Sleep, Repeat. #happytrails to all you #hikertrash out there starting to one of the greatest adventures of your life now. Embrace the journey itself…

Fun fact: The PCT starts in Campo and with this the journey which now led to my new little baby – our start up which is also called “campo”. Coincidence? What do you say to that @Bri…? 😂
