Kissed by the sun this morning as wake up call in my tent before we tackled the last four miles into town. The desert again offered beautiful views and blooms…
When we got to the road after an easy 1.5h walk we needed to catch a ride into town – 10 miles we didn’t want to walk extra since they are also not part of the trail. Since we were probably 12 people waiting for a ride and most drivers were intimidated by the amount we tried to call an Uber – but apparently there not so many out here that we had no luck. After 20 minutes a construction pick up truck pulled over and said – I take as many as you can fit on the bed of the truck.
And now we are here – 266 miles done.
Shuffle as much food into the system as possible. After breakfast went shopping for the next section, snacks for the day, picked up some packages and kept on eating.
I did get my new tent – a Zpacks Solplex. It only weighs 437 grams! Saved another 800gr on my base weight!!! Happy hiker 😊
Food, food and two great happenings which helped the days:
4th May = May the force be with you: Star Wars Days meaning unlimited Star Wars movies on TV in our hotel room
5th May = Cinco de Mayo: Mexican independence day which helped with our visit in a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Corona for 2$ 🤘🏼
Just a few impressions…
