Second day was also the biggest day with 42km on the water. The day started out with nice weather and good views.
Katie and I decided to have a stop at the only cafe on the way which we actually had to paddle 400m upstream in a side arm for. And then this: the first place in New Zealand without proper but filter coffee?!? Well, better than no coffee at all…
The rest of the day was a lot of paddling. We became experts in finding the fast water flows and attacking rapids, drifting, using banks as buffers and just enjoyed ourselves…
At night I experimented a little bit with the shutter speed of my camera.
