After a short side trip on the weekend I only got to get back on the trail at 16h. So I did my food shopping for the next days and since I only have to carry food for four days I decided to take delicious food for dinner and breakfast: ciabatta bread with olives and sun dried tomatoes, humus, pulled pork and a nice seafood mix ?
Made the first 15km and out of Waikanae towards the Tararua Range. I have to admit – I do get a feeling about the so often mentioned road walking… ?
I called up the River Stone Cottage B&B from Eppie and Paul to ask if they also had space to pitch a tent on their property. When I arrived these two lovely folks invited me to pitch my tent in their backyard directly at the river and also for tea and a nice chat that night. Thank you for that!
