Do What Make Good?

The short version of “You got to do what you think is best for you”. A long story in a short and precise way. Read the full story in the About sections.

DAS BUCH von FLORIAN ASTOR: Do What Make Good – Der Anfang von 8500 km Glück

Probably one of the best hikes I have done in NZ s Probably one of the best hikes I have done in NZ so far - and this off the TA. On my recent visit to NZ I tried to stay off the TA and explore some of the backcountry I did not pass. So we went into the Mount Aspiring National Park to do a little circuit around the the Young and Wilkin River over Gillespie Pass. A really stunning climb up on the pass and all to ourselves. Only the way out was a good peace of bushwhacking ourselves on the way out on the Wilkin River. But definitely getting the “Good as Gold” stamp!

Back to New Zealand for the summer. Not only the S Back to New Zealand for the summer. Not only the Southern Alps with their rugged ridges and summits fascinated me on my hikes through New Zealand. I have also always enjoyed the beech tree forests with their small leaves playing with the sun rays in the wind. Beech trees are native plants to NZ and are found in more than 2/3 of NZ forests.

Back to the motherland. This time on the Kepler Tr Back to the motherland. This time on the Kepler Track - one of New Zealand’s “Great Walks”. Quiet windy and typical Fiordland weather with a fine view on Lake Te Anau and Mt. Lyall.
My first time back to New Zealand after having hiked the Te Araroa in 2015. I was afraid to spoil the once-in-a-lifetime experience so I stayed away from the TA this time. Crossing it on the road to Te Anau between the Takitimu and Mavora lakes section was still very emotional. This was around two weeks after I started on this epic and life changing journey...
