After a good breakfast and another goodbye to Kayla and Drew who are visiting friends in LA we left late. We had heavy bags with six days of food and moved slower in the heat then during the days before the rest. It felt like the rest day had sucked up all our energy…

But we were all happy to be out of town and back on the trail. We adopted a new family member, Mamie from Alaska and mostly cruised along in silence. I just enjoyed moving, the quiet and peace after these two exhausting days in town…

The terrain was easy and just a constant up and down. It was hot though! When the sun finally came down a bit hiking was even more pleasureful.

After exactly 25 miles / 40km we reached a road and hitchhiked to the next trail angel: Casa de la Luna. Another crazy place dedicated to hikers. Food, old friends and a couple of beerd later I passed out in my tent – exhausted!
